VACANCIES OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF KARNATAKA

The Central University of Karnataka proposes to recruit Assistant Professors in the following subjects in various subjects :

Assistant Professor : 23 posts, Pay Scale : Rs.15600-39100 AGP Rs.6000

General Instructions:
1. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason. Any consequential vacancies arising at the time of interview may also be  filled up from the available candidates. The number of positions is thus open to change.
2. Separate applications shall be submitted for each discipline if the candidate desires to be considered.
3. Candidates already in employment and short-listed for interview by the Selection Committee would be required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer prior to the interview, failing which they may not be considered further.
4. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. More stringent criteria may be applied for short-listing the candidates to be called for interview. Applicants   having higher qualification and merit will be given preference. For teaching positions short- listing shall be done as per Regulations approved by Executive Council of the University.
5. The short listed candidates shall be invited for a personal interaction and seminar presentation/performance. The performance in the personal interaction/ seminar will be evaluated by a method to be developed by the Selection Committee.
6. A Relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master’s level for the SC/ST/Differently-abled (Physically and Visually differently abled) categories
7. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
8. Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent of 55% wherever the grading system is followed by a recognized University shall also be considered eligible as computed by UGC  norms.
9. The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected at any time that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake
10. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.
11. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of  the University shall be final.
12. Applicants who are in employment should route their application through proper channel, failing which the application will be rejected.
13. Candidates must send self-attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets from matriculation (10th Standard) onwards in support of their qualifications and reprints of publications and certificates in support of their API score claimed for the post along with the hard copy of the application form.
14. Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the minimum essential qualifications laid down in the advertisement.
15. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
16. No interim correspondence shall be entertained.
17. All Cases are subject to Gulbarga Jurisdiction only.
18. Outstation candidates belonging to SC/ST categories called for interview/presentation before Selection Committee will be paid contribution equivalent to return single second-class railway fare towards journey expenses on production of confirmed railway tickets/proof.
19.  Applications received without complete information or without requisite fee will be summarily rejected.
20. The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised, if the circumstances so warranted.

The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has been established by an Act of the Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) at Gulbarga, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan Period to address to the concerns of ‘equity and access’ and to increase the access to quality higher education by people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrolment Ratio of less than the national average of 11%.The CUK, with its territorial jurisdiction all over Karnataka has been initiated  its activities from the academic year beginning August 2009 in keeping with the philosophy of achieving and maintaining the highest levels of academic excellence, sensitivity to equity and access in enrolment and recruitment and emerging as a premier national educational and research institution in the country
